The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Ali, "You are to me as Harun was to Musa, except that there is no prophet after me."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لعلي: أنت مني بمنزلة هارون من موسى، إلا أنه ليس بعدي نبي.
Imam Ahmad narrated it (27081), as did Nasai in al-Kubra (8143), Tabarani in al-Kabir (vol. 24 / no. 386), and Ibn Abu Asim in as-Sunnah (1381, in Basim's edition), all of them through Musa Juhani, who said, "I went in to see Fatimah bint Ali, and my companion Abu Mahl said to her, 'How old are you?' She said, 'Eighty-six years.' He said, 'Did you hear anything from your father?' She said, 'Asma bint Umays told me,'" and then he related the hadith.Its isnad is hasan because of Fatimah bint Ali bin Abu Talib. A group of narrators reported from her, but no one has affirmed her reliability except that Ibn Hibban mentioned her among al-Thiqat (5/301). As for Hafiz's statement in al-Taqrib that she is "thiqah," this perhaps goes back to how well-known her particular reports were, as Mizzi mentioned in Tahzib Kamal, citing Zubayr bin Bakkar and others. Otherwise, the word "thiqah" requires an explicit statement from one of the imams.Haythami mentioned it in al-Majmu (9/109) and said, "Ahmad and Tabarani narrated it, and the men of Ahmad's narration are the men of al-Sahih, except for Fatimah bint Ali, who is thiqah."Some have mistakenly taken her to be Fatimah bint Husayn bin Ali bin Abu Talib, but this is wrong, because there is no one among those who reported from her named Musa Juhani.
