We used to give, during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Fitr, a saa of food. Abu Saeed said, "Our food was barley, raisins, dried curd, and dates."
كنا نخرج في عهد رسول الله ﷺ يوم الفطر صاعا من طعام. وقال أبو سعيد: وكان طعامنا الشعير، والزبيب، والأقط، والتمر.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Zakat (1510), from Muaz bin Fadala, who said, Abu Umar narrated to us, from Zayd, from Iyad bin Abdullah bin Saad, from Abu Saeed Khudri, and he related it.Zayd is Ibn Aslam, and Abu Umar is Hafs bin Maysara.Muslim related it in the Book of Zakat (985), from Zayd bin Aslam, and through other chains from Iyad bin Abdullah bin Saad.
