Qatada reported,
We used to visit Anas bin Malik 
while his baker was standing by, and he would say, "Eat. I do not know that the Prophet ﷺ ever saw a thin loaf of bread until he met Allah, nor did he ever see a roasted whole sheep with his own eyes."In another wording, "The Prophet ﷺ never ate fine bread nor a roasted whole sheep until he met Allah."

كنا نأتي أنس بن مالك رضي الله عنه وخبازه قائم، قال: كلوا، فما أعلم النبي ﷺ رأى رغيفا مرققا حتى لحق بالله، ولا رأى شاة سميطا بعينه قط. وفي لفظ: ما أكل النبي ﷺ خبزا مرققا، ولا شاة مسموطة حتى لقي الله
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Foods (5421) from Hudba bin Khalid, who said, Hammam bin Yahya narrated to us, from Qatada, with this wording. The other version, in the same book (5385), comes from Muhammad bin Sinan, who said, Hammam narrated to us, with this wording.As for his saying, "a masmuta sheep," the masmuta is one whose hair has been removed with heated water, and it is then prepared with its skin on, or cooked. This is only done with a young animal that is tender. Fath al-Bari (9/531). However, it is established that the Prophet ﷺ ate from the shank, and this is usually eaten after being prepared in this manner (masmuta), as will come later.
