The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The lizard is a nation that was transformed into creatures on the earth," or, "Lizards are creatures that were transformed on the earth."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: إن الضب أمة مسخت دوابا في الأرض، أو أن الضباب دواب مسخت في الأرض.
Bazzar (2813) narrated it via Ubaydullah bin Musa, from Shubah, from Husayn, from Zayd bin Wahb, from Huzaifa, and he related it.Imam Ahmad (23315) narrated it from Affan, from Shubah, with the same wording, saying, "And he mentioned something similar to this," meaning the hadith of Thabit bin Wadiah. He added in it, "He neither commanded it nor forbade anyone from it."Its isnad is sahih. Husayn here is Ibn Abdul-Rahman Sulami Kufi.Haythami said in al-Majma (4/37), "Bazzar and Ahmad narrated it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih."
