The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I have been given five things that no prophet before me was given. I am granted victory through fear, so the enemy is struck with terror at a distance of a month's journey from me. The earth has been made for me a place of prayer and a means of purification. War spoils have been made lawful for me, though they were not lawful for anyone before me. I have been sent to the red and the black alike. And I was told, 'Ask, and it shall be granted to you,' so I have reserved my request as intercession for my community, and it will reach you, Allah willing, anyone who meets Allah without associating anything with Him."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: أتيت خمسا لم يؤتهن نبي كان قبلي: نصرت بالرعب فيرعب مني العدو مسيرة شهر، وجعلت لي الأرض مسجدا وطهورا، وأحلت لي الغنائم ولم تحل لأحد كان قبلي، وبعثت إلى الأحمر والأسود، وقيل لي: سل تعطه، فاختبأنها شفاعة لأمتي وهي نائلة منكم- إن شاء الله- من لقي الله لا يشرك به شيئا.
Imam Ahmad narrated it (21299) from Yaqub, who said, my father narrated to me, from Ibn Ishaq, Sulayman Amash narrated to me, from Mujahid bin Jabr Abu Hajjaj, from Ubayd bin Umayr Laythi, from Abu Dharr, and he mentioned it. Its isnad is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ishaq, who was a mudallis, except that he explicitly stated "he narrated to me," and he was also corroborated, for Hakim narrated it (2/424) through another route from Abu Usama, who was asked about the words of Allah, "We have sent you only comprehensively to mankind, as a bearer of good tidings and a warner" [Saba 34:28], and he said, Amash narrated to us, with his isnad, mentioning something similar. Mujahid said, regarding the tafsir of "the red and the black," it means "mankind and the jinn." Hakim said, "Sahih according to the standard of the two Shaykhs, though they did not narrate it in this exact wording, they only narrated scattered wordings from the hadith."Abu Dawud narrated it (489) through another route from Jareer, from Amash, with his isnad, in abridged form, with the wording, "The earth has been made for me a means of purification and a place of prayer."On this subject there is also a report from Ibn Abbas, who said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I have been given five things that no prophet before me was given. The earth has been made for me a means of purification and a place of prayer, whereas none of the prophets before me could pray until he reached his prayer niche. I have been granted victory through fear striking the hearts of my enemies from a month's journey away, coming before me against the polytheists, for Allah casts terror into their hearts. Every prophet before was sent specifically to his own people, but I have been sent to the jinn and mankind." Bazzar narrated it, in Kashf Astar (2366), from Muhammad, who said, Ubaydullah narrated to us, from Salim Abu Hammad, from Suddi, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas, and he mentioned it.Haythami said in Majma (8/258), "Bazzar narrated it, and it contains narrators I do not recognize."It has also been narrated with the same meaning, with the addition, "The spoils of war have been made lawful for me, and I have been granted the power of intercession, which I have deferred for my nation, and it belongs to whoever does not associate any partner with Allah." Ahmad narrated it (2742), and it contains Yazid bin Abu Ziyad Hashimi, their freedman, who is daif by the unanimous agreement of the scholars.
