The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave orders for a horned ram with black markings on its legs, belly, and around its eyes, to be brought so he could sacrifice it. When it was brought, he said to her, "Ayesha, bring the knife."Then he said, "Sharpen it with a stone."She did so, and he took the knife and took the ram, laid it on its side, and slaughtered it, saying, "In the name of Allah. O Allah, accept this from Muhammad, the family of Muhammad, and the community of Muhammad."Then he sacrificed it.
أن رسول الله ﷺ أمر بكبش أقرن، يطأ في سواد ويبرك في سواد، وينظر في سواد فأتي به ليضحي به فقال لها: يا عائشة هلمي المدية ثم قال: أشحذيها بحجر ففعلت ثم أخذها وأخذ الكبش فأضجعه، ثم ذبحه ثم قال: باسم الله، اللهم تقبل من محمد وآل محمد، ومن أمة محمد، ثم ضحى به.
Muslim narrated it in the chapter on sacrifices (19:1967) from Harun bin Maruf, who said, Abdullah bin Wahb told us, he said Haywa said, Abu Sakhr informed me, from Yazid bin Qusayt, from Urwa bin Zubayr, from Ayesha, and he mentioned it.His saying, "Sharpen it," means make it sharp.
