The Prophet ﷺ said, "No deeds performed on any other days are better than those performed during these ten days."The companions asked, "Not even jihad?"He replied, "Not even jihad, except for a man who goes out risking his life and wealth and returns with nothing."
عن النبي ﷺ أنه قال: ما العمل في أيام العشر أفضل من العمل في هذه قالوا: ولا الجهاد؟ وقال: ولا الجهاد، إلا رجل خرج يخاطر بنفسه وماله فلم يرجع بشيء.
Bukhari related it in the Book of the Two Eids (969), from Muhammad bin Arara, who said, Shuba narrated to us, from Sulayman, from Muslim al-Batin, from Saeed bin Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, and he mentioned it.There are other hadiths conveying the same meaning, and they have been cited in their respective places.
