Nawas bin Saman reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned the Dajjal one morning, sometimes lowering his voice and sometimes raising it, until we thought he was hiding among the date palms. When we went to him later, he noticed this in our faces and asked, "What is the matter with you?"We replied, "Messenger of Allah, you mentioned the Dajjal this morning, lowering and raising your voice until we thought he was among the date palms."He said, "There are things other than the Dajjal that I fear more for you. If he appears while I am still among you, I will be the one to confront him on your behalf. But if he appears when I am no longer with you, then each person must defend himself, and Allah will be my deputy over every Muslim. He is a young man with very curly hair and a defective eye. I can liken him to Abdul Uzza bin Qatan. Whoever among you meets him, let him recite the opening verses of Surah al-Kahf to him. He will emerge from a place between Syria and Iraq, spreading corruption to the right and to the left. Servants of Allah, stand firm."We asked, "Messenger of Allah, how long will he remain on earth?"He said, "Forty days. One day will be like a year, another like a month, another like a week, and the rest of his days will be like your ordinary days."We asked, "Messenger of Allah, on that day which is like a year, will the prayers of one day be enough for us?"He said, "No. Estimate the times accordingly."We asked, "Messenger of Allah, how swiftly will he move through the earth?"He said, "Like a rain cloud driven by the wind. He will come to a people and call them, and they will believe in him and respond to him. He will then command the sky, and it will rain, and the earth, and it will bring forth vegetation. Their cattle will return to them in the evening with humps taller than ever, udders fuller than ever, and flanks broader than ever. Then he will come to another people and call them, but they will reject his words. He will turn away from them, and they will wake up in drought with nothing of their wealth left in their hands. He will pass by a ruin and say to it, 'Bring out your treasures,' and its treasures will follow him like swarms of bees. Then he will summon a man brimming with youth and strike him with the sword, cutting him into two pieces as far apart as an archer's target. Then he will call him, and the man will come forward, his face beaming with laughter. While he is in this state, Allah will send Masih, son of Maryam, who will descend at the white minaret east of Damascus, wearing two garments lightly dyed with saffron, placing his hands on the wings of two angels. When he lowers his head, drops will fall, and when he raises it, beads like pearls will trickle down. No disbeliever who catches the scent of his breath will live, and his breath reaches as far as his sight. He will pursue the Dajjal until he catches him at the gate of Ludd and kills him. Then Isa, son of Maryam, will come to a people whom Allah has protected from the Dajjal. He will wipe their faces and tell them of their ranks in Paradise. While he is in this state, Allah will reveal to Isa, 'I have brought forth servants of Mine whom no one has the power to fight. Take My servants safely to the mountain of Tur.' Then Allah will send forth Yajuj and Majuj, and they will come swarming down from every height. Their first wave will pass by Lake Tabariyya and drink all that is in it, and when their last group passes by, they will say, 'There was once water here.'The Prophet of Allah Isa and his companions will be besieged until the head of an ox will be more valuable to one of them than a hundred Dinars are to any of you today. The Prophet of Allah Isa and his companions will turn to Allah in supplication, and Allah will send upon them a worm in their necks, and they will all perish at once, as though dying a single death. Then the Prophet of Allah Isa and his companions will descend to the earth and find no spot the size of a hand-span that is not filled with their stench and rot. The Prophet of Allah Isa and his companions will again turn to Allah in supplication, and Allah will send birds with necks like those of Bactrian camels, which will carry them away and cast them wherever Allah wills. Then Allah will send rain that no house of clay or hide can keep out, and it will wash the earth until it leaves it like a polished mirror. Then it will be said to the earth, 'Bring forth your fruit and restore your blessings.' On that day, a group of people will eat from a single pomegranate and shelter under its rind. Milk will be so blessed that the milk of one camel will suffice a large gathering of people, the milk of one cow will suffice a tribe, and the milk of one sheep will suffice an extended family. While they are in this state, Allah will send a pleasant wind that will take them under their armpits and seize the soul of every believer and every Muslim. Only the worst of people will remain, fornicating openly like donkeys, and upon them the Hour will be established."
