The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no vow except in that by which the pleasure of Allah is sought, and there is no oath in severing ties of kinship."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: لا نذر إلا فيما يبتغي به وجه الله، ولا يمين في قطيعة رحم.
Narrated by Abu Dawud (3273) and Ahmad (6732), both from the hadith of Abdul-Rahman bin Harith, from Amr bin Shuayb, from his father, from his grandfather, who mentioned it. Its chain is hasan because of Amr bin Shuayb, for his hadith is hasan.
