Abu Hurairah reported,
I heard Abu al-Qasim, the truthful and trusted one, say, "The one-eyed Dajjal, the false messiah of misguidance, will emerge from the East in a time when people are divided and at odds with one another. He will travel across the earth in forty days, reaching whatever portion of it Allah wills, the extent of which only Allah knows. The believers will face severe hardship. Then Isa son of Maryam ﷺ will descend from heaven and lead the people in prayer. When he raises his head from the bowing position, he will say, 'Allah hears whoever praises Him. Allah has killed the false messiah, the Dajjal, and the Muslims have prevailed.'"I swear that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Abu al-Qasim, the truthful and trusted one ﷺ, said, "It is the truth. As for it being near, everything that is coming is near."

سمعت أبا القاسم الصادق المصدوق يقول: يخرج أعور الدجال مسيح الضلالة قبل المشرق في زمن اختلاف من الناس، وفرقة، فيبلغ ما شاء الله أن يبلغ من الأرض في أربعين يوما، الله أعلم ما مقدارها، فيلقى المؤمنون شدة شديدة، ثم ينزل عيسى ابن مريم ﷺ من السماء، فيؤم الناس، فإذا رفع رأسه من ركعته قال: سمع الله لمن حمده، قتل الله المسيح الدجال، وظهر المسلمون، فأحلف أن رسول الله ﷺ أبا القاسم الصادق المصدوق ﷺ قال: إنه لحق، وأما أنه قريب، فكل ما هو آت قريب.

Bazzar narrated it in Kashf Astar (3396), from Ali bin Mundhir, from Muhammad bin Fudayl, from Asim bin Kulayb, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, and he related the hadith. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (6812) through another route, from Salih bin Umar, who said, Asim bin Kulayb narrated to us, with his chain of transmission, similarly.Haythami mentioned it in Majma (7/349) and attributed it to Bazzar, saying, "Its narrators are the narrators of sahih, except Ali bin Mundhir, who is trustworthy."I say, he has been corroborated in the chain of Ibn Hibban, but it contains Kulayb, the father of Asim, who is Kulayb bin Shihab, about whom there is disagreement. Abu Dawud and Nasai criticized him, while Abu Zura, Ibn Saad, and others deemed him trustworthy. His hadith is hasan, and this is why Hafiz said of him in Taqrib, "Truthful (saduq)."As for his statement, "he leads them in prayer," Ibn Hibban said, "He meant by it that he commands them to lead the prayer, since the Arabs attribute the action to the one who commands it just as they attribute it to the one who performs it."As for his statement, "Allah killed Dajjal," this means at the hand of Isa, and it is like the statement of Allah Most High, "So you did not kill them, but it was Allah who killed them. And you did not throw when you threw, but it was Allah who threw" [Anfal 8:17].
