Abu Barza reported,

I was with Abu Bakr رضي الله عنها when he became furious with a man and dealt harshly with him. I said, "Will you permit me, Caliph of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, to strike off his neck?"My words drove away his anger. He stood up and went inside, then sent for me and asked, "What was it you said just now?"I replied, "Permit me to strike off his neck."He asked, "Would you have actually done it had I ordered you?"I said, "Yes."He said, "No, by Allah, this was not for any human being after Muhammad ﷺ."
