The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "By the One in whose hand my soul is, the son of Maryam is about to descend among you as a just ruler. He will break the cross, kill the swine, and abolish the jizyah. Wealth will become so abundant that no one will accept it, until a single prostration will be better than the world and all that is in it."Then Abu Hurairah would say, "Recite if you wish, 'And there is none from the People of the Book but will surely believe in him before his death, and on the Day of Resurrection he will be a witness against them'" [Nisa 4:159].
Bukhari narrated it in the chapters on the prophets (3448), and Muslim in the book of faith (155), both from the hadith of Yaqub bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Shihab, that Saeed bin Musayab heard Abu Hurairah say (as previously mentioned). Regarding the words of the Most High, "before his death", the pronoun refers to Isa . This is the correct view, and it is reported from Ibn Abbas, Abu Hurairah, and others. As for those who say the pronoun refers to the People of the Book, they are stretching the interpretation far beyond what it bears.
