When the verses declaring my innocence were revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood on the pulpit, mentioned this, and recited the Quran. When he came down, he ordered that two men and a woman be flogged with the prescribed punishment.
لما نزل عذري قام رسول الله ﷺ على المنبر فذكر ذلك وتلا القرآن. فلما نزل أمر برجلين وامرأة فضربوا حدهم.
Reported by Abu Dawud (4474), Tirmidhi (3181), Ibn Majah (2567), and Ahmad (24066), all from the hadith of Ibn Abu Adi (who is Muhammad bin Ibrahim bin Abu Adi), from Muhammad bin Ishaq, from Abdullah bin Abu Bakr, from Amra, from Ayesha, and he related it.Its chain is hasan, for although Muhammad bin Ishaq was a mudallis, he explicitly stated "hadathani" (he narrated to me) in the version found in Bayhaqi's Dalail (4/74). Tirmidhi said, "Hasan gharib, we do not know it except from the hadith of Muhammad bin Ishaq."I say, it is as he said, except that he narrated it once as connected and another time as disconnected (mursal). In Sunan Abu Dawud (4475), from Nufayli, Muhammad bin Salama narrated to us, from Muhammad bin Ishaq with this same chain, but he did not mention Ayesha. He said, so he ordered two men and a woman among those who had spoken the slander to be punished, Hassan bin Thabit and Mistah bin Uthatha. Nufayli said, "And they say the woman was Hamna bint Jahsh."
