The Prophet ﷺ cut off the hand of a woman.Ayesha said, "She used to come to me afterwards, and I would convey her needs to the Prophet ﷺ. She repented, and her repentance was sincere."
أن النبي ﷺ قطع يد امرأة، قالت عائشة: وكانت تأتي بعد ذلك فأرفع حاجتها إلى النبي ﷺ فتابت وحسنت توبتها.
Bukhari related it in the Hudud (6800) and Muslim in the Hudud (9:1688), both through the route of Ibn Wahb, who said, Yunus bin Yazid informed me, from Ibn Shihab, Urwa bin Zubayr informed me, from Ayesha, and he mentioned it. The wording is Bukhari's, and Muslim mentioned it within the long hadith concerning the woman who worried the Quraysh, who was from the Makhzum tribe, as stated in some of the narrations.Bukhari gave it the heading "Chapter on the repentance of the thief," and included under it this hadith along with another, then said, "If the thief repents after his hand has been cut off, his testimony is accepted, and likewise every person who has undergone a hadd punishment, if he repents, his testimony is accepted."
