The Prophet ﷺ said to him during the Farewell Pilgrimage, "Call the people to silence." Then he said, "Do not revert to disbelief after me, striking the necks of one another."
أن النبي ﷺ قال له في حجة الوداع: استنصت الناس فقال: لا ترجعوا بعدي كفارا، يضرب بعضكم رقاب بعض.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Knowledge (121) and Muslim in the Book of Faith (65), both from the hadith of Shuba, who said, Ali bin Mudrak informed me, from Abu Zura, from his grandfather Jareer, and he related it.
