The Prophet ﷺ said, "The greatest of the major sins are associating partners with Allah, killing a soul, disobedience to parents, and speaking falsehood," or he said, "and giving false testimony."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: أكبر الكبائر الإشراك بالله، وقتل النفس، وعقوق الوالدين، وقول الزور أو قال: وشهادة الزور.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Diyat (6871) and Muslim in the Book of Iman (88), both through the route of Shubah, who said, Ubaydullah bin Abu Bakr told us, from Anas, and he mentioned it.
