The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever comes worshipping Allah, associating nothing with Him, establishing the prayer, paying the zakat, fasting Ramadan, and avoiding the major sins, paradise is his."They asked him, "What are the major sins?"He replied, "Associating partners with Allah, killing a Muslim soul, and fleeing on the day of battle."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: من جاء يعبد الله، لا يشرك به شيئا، ويقيم الصلاة، ويؤتي الزكاة، ويصوم رمضان، ويجتنب الكبائر فإن له الجنة وسألوه ما الكبائر؟ قال: الإشراك بالله، وقتل النفس المسلمة، وفرار يوم الزحف.
Nasai (4009), Ahmad (23502), and Tahawi in his Mushkil (896) all narrated it through various routes from Baqiya bin Walid, who said, Buhayr bin Saad narrated to me, from Khalid bin Madan, who said, Abu Rahm Sammai narrated to us, that Abu Ayub told him, and he related the hadith. Its chain is hasan because of Baqiya bin Walid, and the core of the hadith has corroborating support.Ibn Hibban narrated it in his Sahih (3247) and Hakim (1/23) from the hadith of Fudayl bin Sulayman, who said, Musa bin Uqba narrated to us, who said, Abdullah bin Salman Aghar narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Ayub, and he related the hadith. Except that Ibn Hibban did not mention the question about the major sins. And in Hakim's version, it is Ubaydullah bin Salman. Hakim said, "Sahih according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs, and I know of no defect in it." Dhahabi followed up on this and said, "Ubaydullah bin Salman Aghar was only cited by Bukhari."Both Abdullah and Ubaydullah narrate from their father Salman Aghar, except that Abdullah is among the narrators of Muslim, while Ubaydullah is among the narrators of Bukhari, so take note.
