The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The believer remains at ease in his religion as long as he does not shed forbidden blood."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: لن يزال المؤمن في فسحة من دينه ما لم يصب دما حراما.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Blood Money (6862), from Ali (that is, Ibn Jad), who said, Ishaq bin Saeed bin Amr bin Saeed bin As narrated to us, from his father, from Ibn Umar, and he mentioned it. Bukhari also narrated it as a statement of Ibn Umar, that among the entanglements of affairs from which there is no way out for one who plunges himself into them is unlawfully shedding forbidden blood (6862).
