The Prophet ﷺ said, "Among the signs preceding the Hour are greeting only those one knows, the spread of commerce, the appearance of false testimony, and the concealment of truthful testimony."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: إن من بين يدي الساعة، التسليم على الخاصة، وفشو التجارة، وظهور شهادة الزور، وكتمان شهادة الحق.
Bukhari narrated it in Adab al-Mufrad (1049), Ahmad (3982), Tahawi in his Mushkil (1590), and Hakim (4/445), all of them from the hadith of Bashir bin Sulayman, from Sayyar Abu Hamza, from Tariq bin Shihab, from Ibn Masud, who related it, and this is an abridged version. Its isnad is hasan because of Abu Hamza, for he is hasan al-hadith, as was explained previously in the Book of Sales, chapter on the signs of the Hour that wealth will become abundant.As for the statement of Haythami in Al-Majma (7/329), "Its narrators are the narrators of the sahih," this is based on his assumption that Sayyar is Abu Hakam, which is a mistake. He is rather Sayyar Abu Hamza.
