Yahya bin Saeed bin Aas married the daughter of Abdurrahman bin Hakam, then divorced her and removed her from his home. Urwa criticized them for this. They responded, "But Fatimah was made to leave."Urwa said, "I went to Ayesha and informed her of this."She said, "It is no good for Fatimah bint Qays to mention this hadith."
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Divorce (52:1481), from Abu Kurayb, who said, Abu Usama told us, from Hisham, my father told me, and he mentioned it.Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Divorce (5324–5326), through the route of Sufyan, from Abdul-Rahman bin Qasim, from his father, who said, Urwa bin Zubayr said to Ayesha, and he mentioned it in similar fashion. Bukhari said, Ibn Abu Zinad added, from Hisham, from his father, Ayesha strongly disapproved of it and said, "Fatimah was in a desolate and frightening place, alone, and that is why the Prophet ﷺ permitted it for her."Hafiz said in Fath al-Bari (9/479), "Abu Dawud connected it through the route of Ibn Wahb, from Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Zinad."As for the words of Allah Most High, "unless they commit a clear indecency" [Talaq 65:1], Ibn Abbas said, this means she openly mistreats her husband's family, and if she openly mistreats them then it becomes permissible for them to have her removed. Bayhaqi mentioned this (7/431).
