A man performed the mutual oath of condemnation against his wife during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and disowned her child. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then separated the two of them and attached the child's lineage to the mother.
أن رجلا لاعن امرأته في زمان رسول الله ﷺ وانتفل من ولدها، ففرق رسول الله ﷺ بينها، وألحق الولد بالمرأة.
Malik narrated it in Talaq (35) from Nafi, from Abdullah bin Umar, and he related it.Bukhari narrated it in Talaq (5315), and Muslim in Lian (1494:8), both of them through the route of Malik, with the same wording.His saying, "and he disowned him," means he disavowed him. In Bukhari it reads, "and he disavowed."
