Abdullah bin Amr bin As reported,

It is reported from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that a man from the Ansar, of the tribe of Banu Zurayq, accused his wife of adultery. He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and repeated the accusation four times before him. Then Allah revealed the verse of mutual cursing.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Where is the one who asked? A grave matter has been revealed from Allah."The man refused to do anything except invoke the curse against her, and she likewise refused to do anything except ward off the punishment from herself, so they performed the mutual cursing.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If she gives birth to a child who is yellowish, snub-nosed, and slender of bone, then he belongs to the one who invoked the curse. But if she gives birth to a child who is dark like an ashen camel, then he belongs to another."She gave birth to a child dark like an ashen camel. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent for him and assigned him to his mother's maternal relatives, saying, "Were it not for the oaths that have already passed, I would have dealt with him in such and such a manner."

عن عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص

عن رسول الله ﷺ: أن رجلا من الأنصار من بني زريق قذف امرأته، فأتى رسول الله ﷺ فردد ذلك أربع مرات على رسول الله ﷺ، فأنزل الله آية الملاعنة، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: أين السائل، إنه قد نزل من الله أمر عظيم، فأبى الرجل إلا أن يلا عنها، وأبت إلا أن تدرأ عن نفسها العذاب، فتلاعنا، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: إما هي تجيء به أصيفر أخينس منشول العظام فهو للملاعن، وإما تجيء به أسود كالجمل الأورق فهو لغيره، فجاءت به أسود كالجمل الأورق فدعا به رسول الله ﷺ فجعله لعصبة أمه، وقال: لو ما الأيمان التي مضت لكان لي فيه كذا وكذا.
