The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to the two who had engaged in mutual cursing, "Your reckoning is with Allah. One of you is lying. You have no way back to her."The man asked, "Messenger of Allah, what about my wealth?"He replied, "You have no claim to it. If you spoke the truth against her, then it is the price for what you took as lawful from her. And if you lied against her, then it is even further beyond your reach."
قال رسول الله ﷺ للمتلاعنين: حسابكما على الله. أحدكما كاذب، لا سبيل لك عليها قال: يا رسول الله مالي؟ قال: لا مال لك، إن كنت صدقت عليها فهو بما استحللت من فرجها، وإن كنت كذبت عليها فذلك أبعد لك منها.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Divorce (5312), and Muslim in the Book of Lian (5:1492), both through Sufyan bin Uyayna, from Amr (that is, Ibn Dinar), I heard Saeed bin Jubayr say, I asked Ibn Umar about the couple who engaged in mutual imprecation (lian), and he said, The Prophet ﷺ said to the couple who engaged in mutual imprecation, and he mentioned it.
