When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived in Madinah, the people rushed out toward him. It was announced, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has arrived!" So I came along with the people to look at him. When I got a clear view of the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I knew that his face was not the face of a liar. The first thing he said was, "People, spread the greeting of peace, feed others, and pray at night while people are sleeping. You will enter Paradise in peace."
Tirmidhi (2485) and Ibn Majah (1334) narrated it, and Hakim declared it sahih (3/13), (4/159-160), all of them through the route of Awf bin Abu Jameela, who said, Zurara bin Abu Awfa told us, from Abdullah bin Salam, and he related the hadith. Tirmidhi said, "A sahih hadith." Hakim said in the first place, "Sahih according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs," and said in the second place, "Sahih in its chain of transmission."I say, it is as they said, and it will come again in the chapter on the night prayer.
