Imam Ahmad narrated it (19962) from Ibrahim bin Khalid, who said, Rabah related to us, from Mamar, from Ibn Sirin, from Imran bin Husayn, and he mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Rabah is Ibn Zayd Qurashi, their client, of Sanaa, a trustworthy and excellent narrator. Abu Hatim and Nasai and others rated him trustworthy. He is among the narrators used by Abu Dawud and Nasai. The hadith has other routes that contain flaws. Among them is what Nasai (3591) and Ahmad (19855) narrated, both from the hadith of Muhammad bin Jafar, who said, Shubah related to us, from Abu Qazaa, from Hasan, from Imran bin Husayn, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No jalab, no janab, and no shighar." But Hasan did not hear from Imran bin Husayn. Abu Dawud Tayalisi narrated it in his Musnad and said, "I do not recall it as a raised hadith from Shubah."Among them also is what Nasai (3335) and Tirmidhi (1123) narrated through another route, from Bishr bin Mufaddal, who said, Humayd related to us, from Hasan, from Imran bin Husayn, and he mentioned something similar, adding in it, "Whoever plunders a plunder is not one of us."Among them also is what Nasai (3336) narrated from Muhammad bin Kathir, from Fazari, from Humayd, from Anas, and he mentioned the hadith in similar fashion, and he said, "This is a gross error, and the correct version is the hadith of Bishr." End of quote.I say, Hasan Basri is a mudallis, and he did not hear from Imran bin Husayn, except that he was corroborated in the first chain of transmission, just as he was corroborated in a lengthy account that was mentioned earlier in the book of injustices, in the prohibition against plundering.
