Ayesha reported,

Aishah said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ married me when I was six years old, and consummated the marriage when I was nine."She said, "We arrived in Madinah and stayed among Banu Harith bin Khazraj. I fell ill with a fever, and my hair fell out, then it grew back thickly down to my shoulders. My mother Umm Ruman came to me while I was on a swing with my friends, and she called out to me. I went to her, not knowing what she wanted. She took me by the hand and stood me at the door. I was panting heavily until my breath calmed down. Then she brought me into a house where there were some women from the Ansar, who said, 'With goodness and blessing, and with the best of fortune!' My mother handed me over to them, and they washed my head and prepared me. Nothing startled me except the arrival of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the forenoon, and she handed me over to him."

عن عائشة قالت

تزوجني رسول الله ﷺ وأنا بنت ست سنين، وبنى بي وأنا بنت تسع سنين، قالت: فقدمنا المدينة، فنزلنا في بني الحارث بن خزرج، فوعكت فتمزق شعري، فوفى جميمة، فأتتني أمي أم رومان، وأنا على أرجوحة، ومعي صواحبي، فصرخت بي فأتيتها، لا أدري ما تريد بي، فأخذت بيدي حتى أوقفتني على الباب. فقلت: هه هه، حتى ذهب نفسي فأدخلتني بيتا، فإذا نسوة من الأنصار، فقلن: على الخير والبركة، وعلى خير طائر، فأسلمتني إليهن، فغسلن رأسي وأصلحنني، فلم يرعني إلا رسول الله ﷺ ضحى. فأسلمتني إليه.
