Reported by Tirmidhi (1082), Ibn Majah (1849), Nasai (3214), Ahmad (20192), and Ibn Jarud (673), all of them via Muaz bin Hisham, from his father, from Qatada, from Hasan, from Samura, and he mentioned it.Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah said, Zayd bin Akhzam added (from Muaz bin Hisham) in his account, and Qatada recited, "We have already sent messengers before you and gave them wives and offspring" [Rad 13:38]. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Hasan heard from Samura without restriction, as I have clarified in many places. This hadith has also been reported from Ayesha, as follows.
