The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Any slave who flees from his masters has committed an act of disbelief until he returns to them."In another wording, "Any slave who flees has lost the protection of the covenant."In yet another wording, "When a slave flees, no prayer of his is accepted."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: أيما عبد أبق من مواليه فقد كفر حتى يرجع إليهم. وفي لفظ: أيما عبد أبق فقد برئت منه الذمة. وفي لفظ آخر: إذا أبق العبد لم تقبل له صلاة.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Faith (68) through the route of Ismail bin Ulaya, from Mansur bin Abdul-Rahman, from Shaybi, from Jareer, and he mentioned it. The second wording is also found there (69) through the route of Hafs bin Ghiyath, from Dawud, from Shaybi, with the same chain, and he mentioned it. The last wording is also found there (70) through the route of Jareer, from Mughira, from Shaybi, with the same chain, and he mentioned it.
