The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Wala is a bond like the bond of lineage. It is neither to be sold nor given away."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: الولاء لحمة كلحمة النسب، لا يباع، ولا يوهب.
Ibn Hibban (4950) narrated it from Abu Yaala, who said, "It was read to Bishr bin Walid, from Yaqub bin Ibrahim, from Ubaydullah bin Umar, from Abdullah bin Dinar, from Ibn Umar," and he mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Yaqub bin Ibrahim is Abu Yusuf the judge, the companion of Abu Hanifa. It has also been narrated as mursal through another route, but this mursal narration does not defect the connected one, since their paths of transmission differ. It has likewise been narrated as stopped with Saeed bin Musayab. Abdul-Razzaq (16149) narrated it. So the mursal and the stopped narrations both strengthen the connected one. See the detailed sourcing of it in the Fara'id.
