The Prophet ﷺ spoke about a slave jointly owned by two men when one of them frees him, saying, "He must compensate the other."
عن النبي ﷺ قال في المملوك بين الرجلين، فيعتق أحدهما قال: يضمن.
Muslim narrated it in the chapter on manumission (1502), through the route of Muhammad bin Jafar, who said, Shuba narrated to us, from Qatada, from Nadr bin Anas, from Bashir bin Nuhayk, from Abu Hurairah, who mentioned it.
