The Prophet ﷺ ordered the freeing of slaves during the eclipse of the sun.In another wording, "We were commanded to free slaves at the time of an eclipse."
أمر النبي ﷺ بالعتاقة كسوف الشمس. وفي لفظ: كنا نؤمر عند الخسوف بالعتاقة.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Freeing Slaves (2519), from Musa bin Masud, who said, Zaida bin Qudama narrated to us, from Hisham bin Urwa, from Fatimah bint Munzir, from Asma bint Abu Bakr, and he related it.The other wording is also found there (2520), from Muhammad bin Abu Bakr, who said, Ittham narrated to us, who said, Hisham narrated to us with the same content.
