I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever separates a mother from her child, Allah will separate him from his loved ones on the Day of Resurrection."
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: من فرق بين الوالدة وولدها فرق الله بينه وبين أحبته يوم القيامة.
Tirmidhi (1283), Daraqutni (3/67), Hakim (2/55), Bayhaqi (9/126), and Ahmad (23499) all narrated it, all of them through the route of Abdullah bin Wahb, who said, "Huyayy bin Abdullah informed me, from Abu Abdul-Rahman Hubli, from Abu Ayub," and he related it.In Ahmad's version there is a story attached. Tirmidhi said, "Hasan gharib." Hakim said, "Sahih according to the criterion of Muslim."I say, it contains Huyayy bin Abdullah, who is Maafiri Misri, one of the narrators found in the Sunan works but not among the narrators of Muslim. There is disagreement about him, though his hadith is hasan when supported by corroborating narrations, and this is one of them, Allah willing.He has been corroborated by Abdullah bin Junada in Darimi (2522). Abdullah bin Junada is also Maafiri, and he narrated from Abu Abdul-Rahman Hubli, as mentioned in Jarh wa Tadil (5/25). He is acceptable when used for corroboration.In some copies of Darimi the name appears as "Abdul-Rahman bin Junada." This is an error, since there is no narrator known by that name.The hadith has other chains of transmission as well, but the one I have mentioned is the soundest of them.
