Prices rose during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so the people said, "Messenger of Allah, if only you would set fixed prices for us."He replied, "I truly hope to depart from you without any of you demanding redress from me for a wrong I have done him."
غلا السعر على عهد رسول الله ﷺ: فقالوا: لو قومت يا رسول الله. قال: إني لأرجو أن أفارقكم، ولا يطلبني أحد منكم بمظلمة ظلمته.
Ibn Majah (2201), Imam Ahmad (11809), and Tabarani in Al-Awsat (5952) all narrated it through various chains from Abu Nadra, from Abu Saeed, who related it. Abu Nadra's name was Munzir bin Malik bin Qita Abdi, a trustworthy narrator among the men of Muslim. Haythami said in Al-Majmu (4/99), after attributing it to Ahmad and Tabarani, "The men of Ahmad are the men of the sahih."
