The people said, "Messenger of Allah, prices have risen, so set prices for us."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Indeed, it is Allah who sets prices, who withholds and who gives abundantly, and who provides sustenance. I truly hope to meet Allah with no one among you holding a claim against me for any wrong concerning blood or property."
قال الناس: يا رسول الله، غلا السعر؛ فسعر لنا. فقال رسول الله ﷺ: إن الله هو المسعر القابض الباسط الرزاق، وإني لأرجو أن ألقى الله، وليس أحد منكم يطالبني بمظلمة في دم ولا مال.
Abu Dawud (3451), Tirmidhi (1314), Ibn Majah (2200), and Ahmad (1259, 14057) all narrated it through Hammad bin Salama, from Qatada, Thabit, and Humayd, from Anas bin Malik, and he related it.Tirmidhi said, "Hasan sahih." I say, its chain of transmission is sahih, except that some of them did not mention the three narrators from Anas.
