The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was cupped by Abu Taybah, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that he be given a saa of dates and instructed his masters to reduce the tax they imposed on him.
احتجم رسول الله ﷺ، حجمه أبو طيبة، فأمر له رسول الله ﷺ بصاع من تمر، وأمر أهله أن يخففوا عنه من خراجه.
Malik narrated it in "Seeking Permission" (26) from Humayd al-Tawil, from Anas bin Malik, and mentioned it as above. Bukhari narrated it in "Medicine" (5696), and Muslim in "Sharecropping" (1577:62) through another route from Humayd al-Tawil, from Anas, that he was asked about the wages of the cupper. He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was cupped, Abu Taybah cupped him, and he gave him two saa of food, and he spoke to his masters, so they reduced his burden," and he said, "The best of what you treat yourselves with is cupping, and costus indicus." This wording is Bukhari's.Bukhari also narrated it in "Hiring" (2280) through the route of Amr bin Amir, who is al-Ansari, who said, I heard Anas say, "The Prophet ﷺ used to be cupped, and he never wronged anyone regarding his wage."
