The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah has forbidden wine and its price, has forbidden carrion and its price, and has forbidden swine and its price."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: إن الله حرم الخمر وثمنها، وحرم الميتة وثمنها، وحرم الخنزير وثمنه.
Abu Dawud (3485) narrated it from Ahmad bin Salih, who said, Abdullah bin Wahb told us, Muawiya bin Salih told us, from Abdul-Wahhab bin Bakht, from Abu Zinad, from Araj, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it.Bayhaqi (12/6) also narrated it through the route of Abu Dawud. Its chain is hasan because of the discussion surrounding Muawiya bin Salih, who is the son of Hudayr Hadrami, though his hadith is hasan.As for his teacher Abdul-Wahhab bin Bakht, Ibn Hibban criticized him harshly, saying, "He was truthful in narration, but he made many mistakes and erred severely, to the point that fabricated inversions became numerous in his narration, so relying on him as proof is invalid."Yahya bin Main, however, held a good opinion of him, and Abu Zura and Nasai both deemed him reliable, while Abu Hatim said, "There is no harm in him." So where does Ibn Hibban get to say what he said about him?Moreover, this hadith of his has many corroborating narrations, so the correct view is that he got it right in this instance and did not err.
