The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the sale of fruits before their ripeness becomes evident, prohibiting both the seller and the buyer.
أن رسول الله ﷺ نهي عن بيع الثمار حتى يبدو صلاحها، نهي البائع والمشتري.
Malik narrated it in "Sales" (10) from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, as mentioned.Bukhari narrated it in "Sales" (2194), and Muslim in "Sales" (1534:49), both through the route of Malik, with the same wording.Bukhari narrated it (1486) through the route of Abdullah bin Dinar, from Ibn Umar, similarly, adding, "and when he was asked about their ripeness, he would say, 'until their blight has passed.'"
