Abu Minhal reported,

I used to trade in currency exchange, so I asked Bara bin Azib and Zayd bin Arqam about it.They said, "We were traders during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so we asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about currency exchange."He said, "If it is hand to hand, there is no harm in it. But if it is on deferred terms, it is not permissible."
