The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Gold for gold, silver for silver, wheat for wheat, barley for barley, dates for dates, and salt for salt, like for like and hand to hand. Whoever gives more or asks for more has engaged in usury. The one who takes and the one who gives are equal in it."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: الذهب بالذهب، والفضة بالفضة، والبر بالبر، والشعير بالشعير، والتمر بالتمر، والملح بالملح مثلا بمثل، يدا بيد، فمن زاد أو استزاد فقد أربي، الآخذ والمعطي فيه سواء.
Muslim narrated it in "Musaqat" (1584) from Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba, who said, Waki narrated to us, who said, Ismail bin Muslim Abdi narrated to us, who said, Abul-Mutawakkil Naji narrated to us, from Abu Saeed Khudri, who said, and then he mentioned it.
