I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "This does not enter the house of any people except that Allah brings humiliation upon them."
رأى أبو أمامة الباهلي سكة وشيئا من آلة الحرث.
سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول: لا يدخل هذا بيت قوم إلا أدخله الله الذل.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Cultivation and Sharecropping (2321) from Abdullah bin Yusuf, who said, Abdullah bin Salim Himsi told us, Muhammad bin Ziyad Alhani told us, from Abu Umama Bahili, and he mentioned it. There is no condemnation of farming in it, for farming is praiseworthy. Rather, what is condemned is excessive devotion to it while neglecting industry, modern technology, preparing means of defense, and other such things. What is required instead is moderation in farming. On this subject there is also what was reported from Ibn Masud, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not take up farming, lest you become devoted to worldly life." Tirmidhi related it (2328), and Ahmad (3579), and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (710), as did Hakim (4/322), all of them from Amash, from Shimr, from Mughira bin Saad bin Akhram, from his father, from Ibn Masud, and he mentioned it. Tirmidhi said, Hasan. Hakim said, sahih in isnad.I say, it contains Mughira bin Saad bin Akhram, whom none but Ibn Hibban deemed reliable. That is why Hafiz said in al-Taqrib, "Acceptable," meaning when corroborated, and I have found no corroborating narration for him, so his hadith is weak in transmission. As for his father, Saad bin Akhram, there is disagreement over whether he was a companion. Ibn Hibban mentioned him among the companions, then again among the successors. Bukhari and Abu Hatim mentioned him among the successors, and no one narrated from him except his son Mughira, so he too is "acceptable" only when corroborated.
