The Prophet ﷺ entered a date-palm grove belonging to Umm Mubashir, a woman from the Ansar. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Who planted this grove? A Muslim or a disbeliever?"They replied, "A Muslim."He said, "No Muslim plants any planting from which a person, bird, or animal eats except that it counts as charity for him."
أن النبي ﷺ دخل نخلا لأم مبشر امرأة من الأنصار، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: من غرس هذا النخل؟ أمسلم أم كافر؟ قالوا: مسلم. فقال: لا يغرس مسلم غرسا، فأكل منه إنسان أو طير أو دابة إلا كانت صدقة.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Musaqat (1553:13) from Abd bin Humayd, who said, Muslim bin Ibrahim narrated to us, who said, Abu Aban bin Yazid narrated to us, who said, Qatada narrated to us, who said, Anas bin Malik narrated to us, and he related it.Bukhari also narrated it (2320), and he said, Muslim told us, Abu Aban narrated to us, Qatada narrated to us, Anas narrated to us, from the Prophet ﷺ, and he related it.
