Tirmidhi (1249), Ibn Majah (2184), Hakim (2/48–49), and from him Bayhaqi (5/270) all narrated it, all of them from the hadith of Ibn Wahb, who said, Ibn Jurayj told us that Abu Zubayr Makki told him, from Jabir, and he mentioned it, the wording being that of Tirmidhi.Someone else mentioned that the Prophet ﷺ bought a load of khabat (fodder leaves) from a bedouin, and when the sale was concluded, the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Choose." The bedouin said to him, "May Allah give you long life, what a sale!" Hakim said, sahih according to the criterion of Muslim.Hakim and Bayhaqi mentioned the hadith of Yahya bin Ayub, from Ibn Jurayj, with the wording, the Prophet ﷺ bought from a bedouin, he said, I think Abu Zubayr said, from Banu Amir bin Sasaa, a load of khabat, and when the sale was concluded, the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Choose." The bedouin said to him, "I have never seen such a sale and such understanding in all my life. Who are you from?" He said, "From Quraysh." Then both of them said, and Ibn Wahb likewise narrated it from Ibn Jurayj. End of quote.But Bayhaqi said after that, Ibn Uyayna narrated it from Ibn Jurayj, from Abu Zubayr, from Tawus, from the Prophet ﷺ, as a mursal report. Abdullah bin Tawus likewise narrated it from his father.Then he related it through the route of Shafii, from Ibn Uyayna, from Abdullah bin Tawus, from his father, who said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave a man the choice after the sale, and the man said to him, "May Allah give you long life, who are you from?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A man from Quraysh." He said, my father used to swear that the option to cancel comes only after the sale.Then he narrated it from the hadith of Abdul-Razzaq, who said, Mamar told us, from Ibn Tawus, from his father, who said, the Prophet ﷺ bought, before his prophethood, a camel or something else from a bedouin, and when the sale was concluded, the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Choose." The bedouin looked at him and said, "May Allah give you long life, who are you from?" He said, then when Islam came, the Prophet ﷺ made the option to cancel come after the sale. End of quote.
