The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that Dawud would eat only from the work of his own hands.
عن رسول الله ﷺ أن داود كان لا يأكل إلا من عمل يده.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Trade (2073), from Yahya bin Musa, who said, "Abdul-Razzaq narrated to us, who said, Mamar informed us, from Hammam bin Munabbih, who said, Abu Hurairah narrated to us," and he related it.
