Ibn Umar reported that the Prophet ﷺ and his companions used to slaughter the sacrificial camels with the left foreleg tied up, the camel standing on its remaining legs.
أن النبي ﷺ وأصحابه كانوا ينحرون البدن معقولة اليسرى، قائمة على ما بقي من قوائمها.
Abu Dawud (1767) narrated it from Uthman bin Abu Shayba, who said, "Abu Khalid Ahmar narrated to us from Ibn Jurayj, from Abu Zubayr, from Jabir." And Ibn Jurayj said, "Abdul-Rahman bin Sabit informed me," and he related it.Ibn Jurayj's statement "Abdul-Rahman bin Sabit informed me" is a sahih mursal report, because Ibn Sabit is among the trustworthy narrators of the generation after the companions, and it strengthens the connected chain. Bayhaqi (5/237-238) said, after citing both routes from Abu Dawud, "The hadith of Ibn Jurayj, from Abu Zubayr, from Jabir, is connected, while the one from Abdul-Rahman bin Sabit is mursal."
