The Prophet ﷺ entered the Kaabah, which had six pillars inside. He stood by one of the pillars and made supplication, but did not pray.
أن النبي ﷺ دخل الكعبة وفيها ست سوار، فقام عند سارية، فدعا ولم يصل.
Muslim reported it in the chapter on Hajj (1331) from Shayban bin Faruq, who said, Hammam narrated to us, who said, Ata narrated to us, from Ibn Abbas, and he mentioned it.Ibn Hibban also reported it in his Sahih (3207) from Hasan bin Sufyan, who said, Shayban bin Faruq narrated to us with his chain, and it contains, "He stood by every pillar and prayed, but he did not perform the prayer."Hammam is Hammam bin Yahya Awdhi, with the ain pronounced with a fatha and the waw with a sukun.
