The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed the people on the Day of Sacrifice and said, "People, what day is this?"They replied, "A sacred day."He asked, "What land is this?"They replied, "A sacred land."He asked, "What month is this?"They replied, "A sacred month."He said, "Indeed, your blood, your property, and your honor are sacred to you, like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this land of yours, in this month of yours."He repeated this several times, then raised his head and said, "Allah, have I delivered the message? Allah, have I delivered the message? Allah, have I delivered the message?"Ibn Abbas said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, it was his bequest to his community. Let those present convey it to those absent. Do not return to disbelief after me, striking the necks of one another."
