Abdullah bin Umar would throw seven pebbles at the first Jamrah, saying takbir after each pebble. He would then move forward to level ground, stand facing the qiblah for a long time, supplicate, and raise his hands.Next, he would throw pebbles at the middle Jamrah in the same manner, then take the path to the left, move to level ground, stand facing the qiblah for a long time, supplicate, and raise his hands.Then he would throw pebbles at the Jamrah of Aqaba from the bottom of the valley, without stopping there afterward.He said, "This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do it."
أن عبد الله بن عمر رضي الله عنهما كان يرمي الجمرة الدنيا بسبع حصيات، ثم يكبر على إثر كل حصاة، ثم يتقدم فيسهل، فيقوم مستقبل القبلة قياما طويلا فيدعو ويرفع يديه، ثم يرمي الجمرة الوسطى كذلك، فيأخذ ذات الشمال فيسهل، ويقوم مستقبل القبلة قياما طويلا فيدعو ويرفع يديه، ثم يرمي الجمرة ذات العقبة من بطن الوادي ولا يقف عندها ويقول: هكذا رأيت رسول الله ﷺ يفعل.
Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on Hajj (1752) from Ismail bin Abdullah, who said, my brother told me, from Sulayman, from Yunus bin Yazid, from Ibn Shihab, from Salim bin Abdullah, from Abdullah bin Umar, and he related it.Similar in meaning is what was narrated from Ibn Abbas, who said, when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ threw stones at Jamra Uqba, he would move on and not stop. Ibn Majah narrated it (3033), but it contains Hajjaj, who is Ibn Artah, and he is daif. It also contains Hakam bin Utayba, from Miqsam, from Ibn Abbas, but Hakam did not hear this hadith from Miqsam.
