The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood at Jam, and when everything became light before sunrise, he proceeded onward.
أن رسول الله ﷺ وقف بجمع، فلما أضاء كل شيء قبل أن تطلع الشمس أفاض.
Ahmad (3020) narrated it from Abu Dawud, from Zama, from Salama bin Wahram, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas, and he related it. Zama is Ibn Salih Jundi, Abu Wahb, and he is daif. However, the hadith has another route that strengthens it, which is what Tirmidhi (895) and Ahmad (2051) narrated, both from the hadith of Abu Khalid Ahmar, who said, I heard Amash, from Hakam, from Miqsam, from Ibn Abbas, that the Prophet ﷺ departed from Muzdalifa before sunrise.Hakam is Ibn Utayba, who heard only five hadiths from Miqsam, and this is not one of them, the rest being from the book. With these two chains, the hadith rises to the level of hasan.Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan sahih hadith."
