He said, then he (meaning the Prophet ﷺ) mounted Qaswa and rode until he reached al-Mashar al-Haram. He faced the qiblah and supplicated to Allah, declaring His greatness, His oneness, and proclaiming there is no god but Him. He continued standing until the morning grew very bright. The hadith continues.
قال ثم ركب (يعني النبي ﷺ) القصواء حتى أتى المشعر الحرام، فاستقبل القبلة، فدعاه وكبره وهلله، ووحده، فلم يزل واقفا حتى أسفر جدا… الحديث.
Muslim reported it in the Hajj chapter (1218) through Hatim bin Ismail Madani, from Jafar bin Muhammad, from his father, from Jabir, mentioning it within the long hadith. He then reported it through Hafs bin Ghiyath, from Jafar bin Muhammad, with the same chain, and in his account the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I sacrificed here, but all of Mina is a place of sacrifice, so sacrifice wherever you are staying. I stood here, but all of Arafah is a place of standing. And I stood here, but all of Jam is a place of standing."
