Ibn Umar prayed at Muzdalifah and combined the two prayers with a single iqamah. He said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do the same thing in this very place."
أن ابن عمر صلى بجمع، فجمع بين الصلاتين بإقامة. وقال: رأيت رسول الله ﷺ فعل مثل هذا في هذا المكان.
Tirmidhi (887) and Abu Dawud (1929) both narrated it from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri, from Abu Ishaq, from Abdullah bin Malik, and he related it. The wording given is that of Tirmidhi. As for Abu Dawud, he did not mention the phrase "with a separate iqamah," but only mentioned the combining of the two prayers. Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan sahih hadith." I say, it is only hasan, because Abdullah bin Malik, who is the Hamdani or the Asadi of Kufa, was not confirmed reliable by anyone other than Ibn Hibban, and only two narrators reported from him, so he is "acceptable" as stated in Taqrib. And indeed it is so, because he was corroborated as mentioned before.
